About this event

High-quality capstone experiences are where CTE programs truly come together—offering students the opportunity to apply their learning in meaningful, real-world ways. However, designing and sustaining these experiences can feel complex.

This workshop supports districts in developing or strengthening advanced CTE capstone programs that align to career pathways and incorporate elements such as work-based learning, dual credit, and industry-recognized credentials. Participants will explore what makes a capstone experience rigorous and sustainable, learn how to leverage industry and postsecondary partnerships, and walk through a practical planning process to move from idea to implementation.

Objectives

  • Define the key components of high-quality, rigorous CTE capstone experiences
  • Strengthen alignment between capstone courses and career pathway expectations
  • Explore models for integrating work-based learning, dual credit, and credentials
  • Identify strategies for engaging industry and postsecondary partners
  • Develop a plan for designing, implementing, or enhancing a capstone experience within your district
