Description
CESA 5 and CESA 6 invite you to a shared learning opportunity to tackle the complex issues underlying chronic absenteeism and attendance. Stronger student attendance is a result of districts' intentional focus on refining their comprehensive mental health systems and engaging in continuous improvement. Strong teaming practices within the school, family engagement and student voices are key components of a solution-focused system.
- Regular attendance in kindergarten and first grade can influence whether a child reads proficiently by the end of third grade—a key indicator for future academic success. Panorama Education, 2025.
- Once students enter high school, regular attendance is among the strongest predictors of graduation. Child Development, 2021.
- Students who feel connected to their school…are more likely to attend school regularly, stay in school longer, and have higher grades and test scores. CDC, 2009.
