The focus of this 2-day virtual workshop is to help educators understand and implement Wisconsin Act 31, which is a state law requiring all school districts and educator preparation programs to provide instruction on the histories, cultures, and tribal sovereignty of the American Indian Nations of Wisconsin.
This training is designed to provide participants with the knowledge and information they need to integrate the requirements of American Indian Studies into lesson plans, material selections, pedagogical practices, and district curriculum. Information about the Tribal Nations of Wisconsin histories, treaty rights, sovereignty, and cultures of Wisconsin will be presented throughout the workshop.
The goals of this training are to share best practices, information, model programs, and resources with participants so that they are knowledgeable about American Indian Studies (Wisconsin Act 31) and are able to meet the requirements.
You must have your camera on during the advertised date and time for participation and for attendance purposes. The training will NOT BE RECORDED. Additionally, participants do NOT have permission or authorization to record either via video or audio the contents of this training.
This 2-day workshop will fulfill the license stipulation for WI American Indian Bands & Tribes.

Payment Policy for Event Registrations
CESA 6 accepts credit card payments for all event registrations. If you are unable to complete your registration using a credit card, please contact events@cesa6.org for assistance with alternative arrangements.
Group Registrations: If your district would like to register multiple participants and submit one payment for all registrations, please contact events@cesa6.org for assistance.
Please note if an alternative payment is needed, a purchase order must be received before your registration can be confirmed. All registrations must be finalized before the event date.
Alternative payment methods may be approved under the following circumstances:
- Registration fees exceed $1,000
- A specific funding source is being used (e.g., Title funds)
- Your school district requires use of an internal payment process
Participant Cancellations
Cancellations must be submitted in writing by emailing events@cesa6.org. Registrants who cancel at least 14 calendar days prior to the event start date are eligible for a full refund, minus any non-refundable service or material fees. Cancellations received 7 to 13 calendar days before the event will be eligible for a 50% refund. No refunds will be provided for cancellations made within 7 calendar days of the event. Participants who do not attend without prior notice ("no call, no show") will be charged the full event fee.
Event Changes or Cancellations by CESA 6
CESA 6 reserves the right to change or cancel an event due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to low enrollment, presenter availability, or other factors beyond our control. Participants will be notified promptly via email and offered either a full refund or a credit toward a future event.
Registration Transfers
Registrations may be transferred to another individual from the same organization at no additional cost. Please contact us at least 48 hours before the event start date to request a transfer.
